A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PARSONS, BRINCKERHOFF,
QUADE & DOUGLAS, INC.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach ("City") and Parsons,
Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc. , ("Consultant") entered into an
ageement dated February 4 , 1988 ; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 1988 , the City and the Consultant amended the
terms set forth therein, to better reflect the status of personnel
serving the consultant; and
WHEREAS, additional services necessary to complete the transit
feasibility study encompass such items as: patronage estimates, base
mapping, causeway analysis, unscheduled trips occurring beyond the
original project completion date and communications; and
WHEREAS,these services were required to adequately complete the
Study in accordance with the original scope of services contained in the
contract with the Florida Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City and Consultant propose settlement of $25, 066. 00
as full compensation for the claims for scope additions and extra work
under the subject study; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for Change Order Number 1 from Fund
183 , Light Rail Transit Feasibility Study grant from the State of
Florida to amend the agreement in the amount of $25, 066 . 00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Change Order Number 1 to the professional
services agreement with Parsons, Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc. ,
for the Miami Beach Transit System Feasibility Study, as reflected in
the attached letter from Mr. Phillip R. Smelley of Parsons,
Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc. , dated March 7 , 1989, is hereby
approved.
