A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE
AGREEMENT AND ADDENDUM WITH AMERICAN CHEMICAL
SOCIETY FOR THE USE OF HALLS A & B IN THE STEPHEN
MUSS CONVENTION CENTER HALL A-SEPTEMBER 5-16, 1989
AND HALL B-SEPTEMBER 7-15, 1989 .
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has been advised that
AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY
desires to lease certain premises and facilities of the City of
Miami Beach, to-wit:
HALLS A & B IN THE STEPHEN MUSS CONVENTION CENTER
on
HALL A - SEPTEMBER 5-16, 1989
HALL B - SEPTEMBER 7-15, 1989
for the event known as
SEMI-ANNUAL FALL NATIONAL MEETING
AND WHEREAS, an appropriate lease agreement has been prepared
by the Stephen Muss Convention Center Director and approved as to
form by the City Attorney, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been advised of and is familiar
with the terms and provisions of the said lease agreement and deems
it to be in the best interest of the City to authorize the
execution of the said lease agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and the City Clerk be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the above-
described lease agreement and addendum on behalf of the City, and
that the Stephen Muss Convention Center Director be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to carry into effect the terms and
provisions undertaken therein by the City.

$20,000.00 per Commission Action 100-89 dated February 15 ,
1989, plus Florida State Rental Tax, which is currently 6%.
HALL B
50 per square foot net exhibit space used with a minimum
guarantee of $12,000.00, plus Florida State Rental Tax,
which is currently 6%.
RATE: COMMISSION APPROVED
ADDITIONAL NONE
CHARGES:
ADMINISTRATION Approve contract with American Chemical Society for payment
RECOMMENDATION: of $20,000. 00 for Hal 1 A and all Meeting Rooms per Commission
Action 100-89 dated February 15 , 1989, plus Florida State
Rental Tax, which is currently 6%, and 50c per square foot
net exhibit space used with a minimum guarantee of $12,000.00,
plus Florida State Rental Tax of 6% for Hall B.

to the City Commission. Also, please certify to
the City Manager that all documents included
herein are in accordance with all City
regulations.
I concur with the terms of this lease and addendum
and recommend its approval.
