A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENDORSING THE CONCEPT
OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOUTH POINTE LIBRARY
WITH THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AS
THE ELIGIBLE SPONSOR, CERTIFYING SAID PROJECT
AS CONSISTENT WITH LOCAL PLANS AND REGULATIONS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR CERTAIN
CORPORATE TAX CREDITS UNDER FLORIDA LAW.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida has provided for the Community
Contribution Tax Credit Program which requires an eligible sponsor
to undertake an appropriate project, said project to be certified
by the local governmental entity as consistent with local plans and
regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency seeks to be such
an eligible sponsor; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency is working to
develop the South Pointe Library as the subject eligible project;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach hereby certifies that said
project is consistent with local plans and regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency, in efforts to
obtain private contributions for the project, will apply for
approval of corporate contribution tax credits against Florida
corporate income tax pursuant to Florida Statute Section 220. 183 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that:
1. The City Commission of the City of Miami Beach finds,
determines and declares that those matters set out in the foregoing
recitals are true and correct, and they are hereby incorporated as
a portion of this Resolution.
2 . The City Commission of the City of Miami Beach endorses
the concept of the development of the South Pointe Library, with
the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency as the eligible sponsor.
3 . The City Commission of the City of Miami Beach certifies
that said project is consistent with local plans and regulations,
for the purpose of applying for certain community corporate tax
credits under Florida law.
4 . This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption by the City Commission and shall be published as required
by law.

SUBJECT: RESOLUTION "NDORS I NG THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE
SOUTH POINTE LIBRARY IN THE COBB DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Attached for Commission review and approval is a Resolution
endorsing the development of the South Pointe Library within the
Cobb Development Project with the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency
as the eligible sponsor.
By identifying the library as a community improvement project, the
Resolution will allow Cobb Partners, the developer, to apply for
corporate tax credits for this facility pursuant to the Community
Contribution Tax Credit Program for the State of Florida.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the attached Resolution
endorsing the development of the South Pointe Library in the Cobb
Development Project be approved.
