A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR THE COMMENDATION AND
REAPPOINTMENT OF ONE APPOINTEE TO
THE PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL OF SOUTH
FLORIDA, UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE
JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT,
RETROACTIVE TO JULY 1, 1989.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution #83-17319,
passed and adopted April 20, 1983, appointed six (6) persons to the Private Industry
Council of South Florida (PIC); and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution No. 83-
17341, passed and adopted May 17, 1983, provided for fixed and staggered terms
for said appointments; and
WHEREAS, the following appointment expires June 30, 1989:
1. Private Sector
Service/Other - Edward L. Margolis
and
WHEREAS, said appointee has served well and has indicated his
desire to continue such service;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Mr. Edward L. Margolis is
hereby commended for such service and is hereby reappointed for a two year term,
ending June 30, 1991.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 12th day of July , 1989.

SUBJECT: APPOINTMEN TO PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL OF SOUTH
FLORIDA (PIC)
BACKGROUND:
On May 17, 1983, the Commission adopted Resolution No. 83-17341,
authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with other
South Florida Employment and Training Consortium members,
providing for six (6) appointments to the Private Industry Council of
South Florida for fixed and staggered terms.
Since that time, the PIC has decided to reduce the size of its
membership from 49 to 35 members. As a result, the number of
appointments from the City of Miami Beach has been reduced from six
to five, and, effective July 1, 1986, to four.
At this time, one appointee's term expires June 30, 1989, and,
therefore, needs to be reappointed.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends the reappointment of the following
individual: Mr. Edward L. Margolis, by the adoption of the attached
Resolution.
