RESOLUTION 89-19773 RESOLUTION NO. 89-19773 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, A JOINT PROJECT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ADJUSTING SANITARY SEWER MANHOLES AND WATER VALVE BOXES ON FIFTH STREET BETWEEN OCEAN DRIVE AND WEST AVENUE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation will re-surface Fifth Street between West Avenue and Ocean Drive, in the spring of 1990; and WHEREAS, City of Miami Beach utility structures will have to be adjusted to the grade and the new road surface; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation will include the adjustment of utility structures in the construction contract with its contractor, but the cost will be borne by the City of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS, the attached Joint Project Agreement has been recommended by the City Manager and approved as to form b y t h e City itl Attorney. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, the attached Joint Project Agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the State of Florida Department of Transportation for adjusting sanitary sewer manholes and water valve boxes on Fifth Street between Ocean Drive and West Avenue. Parkins -- FROM: ,f�� 1,�, %�� � City Manager SUBJECT: JOINT PROJECT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FOR ADJUSTMENT OF UTILITY STRUCTURES- RESURFACING OF FIFTH STREET (A IA) FROM WEST AVENUE TO OCEAN DRIVE, HN-430 The Florida Department of Transportation will resurface Fifth Street in the spring of 1990. ' The City has 35 water valve and manhole structures to be adjusted to the grade of the new construction. The Department of Transportation will include the raising of these appurtenances, however, the City is required to pay the cost. A Joint Project Agreement for adjustment of utility structures by the asphalt highway contractor must be entered into between the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Miami Beach. ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends that the Commission approve execution of the Agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Miami Beach for the adjustment of utilities in conjunction with the above project. The estimated cost for adjusting valve and manhole structures will be $10,500.00, and funds for this purpose will be provided from the Water and Sewer Fund.
