RESOLUTION 89-19787 RESOLUTION NO. 89-19787 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CERTIFICATE OF THE CITY COMMISSION APPOINTED COMMITTEE CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 7, 1989, GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS. WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, the certification of the City Clerk, City Manager and the City Attorney as the committee appointed by the City Commission on October 4, 1989, to act as its representatives regarding the conduct of the November 7, 1989, general and special elections, and WHEREAS, said committee has acted as the Commission representatives and were present at the tabulation of the returns of the election as duly conducted by the Elections Department of Metropolitan Dade County, and has certified the returns of the elections; ND�T, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that having canvassed the returns of the November 7, 1989, general and special elections, as submitted by the committee hereinabove referred to, it does hereby adopt the Certificate as to the results of said elections and it is hereby ordered that the same certificate and this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the meeting as a permanent record of the results of said elections; BE IT FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED that the following candidates for Mayor and City Commissioner, Groups I, III, IV, V, and VI received the highest number of votes casts, and are hereby declared ELECTED: FOR MAYOR : ALEX DAOUD FOR CITY COMMISSIONER, GROUP I: BRUCE M. SINGER FOR CITY COMMISSIONER, GROUP III: WILLIAM E. SHOCKETT FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP IV: ABE RESNICK FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP V: ABE HIRSCHFELD FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP VI: MARTIN SHAPIRO AND IT FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED THAT: Amendment Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by adoption of this resolution the City Commission-appointed Committee has discharged its duties and the Committee is hereby adjourned.
