RESOLUTION 89-19803 RESOLUTION NO. 89-19803 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR INCREASED APPROPRIATIONS TO WORK ORDER NUMBER 2949 FOR THE LUMMUS PARK, PHASE II, CONSTRUCTION FROM 5TH TO 9TH STREETS WHEREAS, the City Administration has prepared cost estimates for the Phase II completion of Lummus Park from 5th to 9th Streets in the amount of $862,590.00; and WHEREAS, as it is necessary to increase the appropriation of Work Order No. 2949 to accomplish Phase II as planned; and WHEREAS, as the funding of such increases is available through a DER Grant and Bond Fund Number 360. NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'!' DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission hereby increase appropriation to Work Order No. 2949 by the amount of $862,590.00 for the purpose of completing Lummus Park, Phase II, from 5th to 9th Streets. Par . 1�• City Manager 4r' l SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR • PPROPRIATION INCREASE WORK ORDER NUMBER 2949 LUMMUS PARK CONSTRUCTION, PHASE II The City Administration has prepared cost estimates for the Phase II completion of Lummus Park from 5th to 9th Streets in the amount of $862,590.00. The work will be completed in several phases starting with grading, placement of irrigation, electrical facilities and sod, west of the existing wall. The work is being sequenced so as to eliminate temporary restoration costs on the Ocean Drive Project making these savings available for Park construction. A general breakdown of the proposed costs are as follows: Demolition $122,880 Tree Relocation 8,250 New Wall 208,080 Walkways 163,218 Sod 84,393 Irrigation 55,976 Electrical 76,028 $718,825 Eng. Surveys & Inspections 143,765 TOTAL COST $862,590 The sources of funding for this project are a DER grant of $140,000 to be used exclusively for the walkways and $722,590 from Bond Fund No. 360 for the remainder of the work. ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the Resolution authorizing the Request for Appropriation in the amount of $862,590.00 for the Phase II Development of Lummus Park from 5th to 9th Streets.
