A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA FINDING THAT THE "'CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 PLAN REPORT,' AND
THE ',CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 2 PLAN REPORT,' ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH YEAR 2000 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND
RECOMMENDING THAT THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS OF SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS NO. 1 AND NO. 2
CONSIDER ADOPTION OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PLANS.
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT,
WHEREAS, City staff has prepared the "City of Miami Beach Safe
Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1 Plan Report" and the "City
of Miami Beach Safe Neighborhood Improvement District No. 2 Plan
Report" and;
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Department staff has reviewed
these plans and found them to be consistent with the City of Miami
Beach Year 2000 Comprehensive Plan and;
WHEREAS, in order to proceed with formal approval of the Safe
Neighborhood Plans and to receive funding from the State Department
of Community Affairs, the City Commission must enact a Resolution
finding that the Safe Neighborhood Plans are consistent with the
City' s Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the City Commission hereby finds
that the "City of Miami Beach Safe Neighborhood Improvement
District No. 1 Plan Report" and the "City of Miami Beach Safe
Neighborhood Improvement District No. 2 Plan Report" are consistent
with the City of Miami Beach Year 2000 Comprehensive Plan and
recommends that the Boards of Directors of Safe Neighborhood
Improvement Districts No. 1 and 2 consider adoption of their
respective plan reports.

YEAR 2000 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND RECOMMENDING
THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS OF SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD
DISTRICT NO. 1 AND NO. 2 CONSIDER ADOPTION OF
THEIR RESPECTIVE PLANS.
BACKGROUND
The City of Miami Beach and its Neighborhood Improvement Districts
Nos. 1 and 2 were awarded grants from the State of Florida
Department of Community Affairs to formulate and adopt a Safe
Neighborhood Plan for each of the two Districts. These plans have
'now been completed. The staff of the City' s Planning and Zoning
Department has reviewed the plans and found them to be consistent
with the goals and objectives of the City' s Year 2000 Comprehensive
Plan. In order to fulfill the City' s contractual obligations with
the State, the City Commission must now rule on the plans '
consistency and recommend that the Boards of Directors of Safe
Neighborhood District No. 1 and No. 2 consider the adoption of
their respective plans. This action must be taken on December 20,
1989 to fulfill the obligations of the contract and avoid
jeopardizing the funding.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The City Administration recommends that the Safe Neighborhood Plans
for Districts No. 1 and No. 2 be found to be consistent with the
City' s Comprehensive Plan and that the Boards of Directors for the
respective districts consider the adoption of said plans.
