A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING AND
ESTABLISHING AN ADVISORY CHARTER REVIEW BOARD;
PRESCRIBING ITS DUTIES AND PROVIDING FOR THE
MANNER OF APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF OFFICE OF
ITS MEMBERS.
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA THAT AN ADVISORY BOARD TO BE KNOWN AS "THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CHARTER REVIEW AND REVISION BOARD" BE AND THE
SAME IS HEREBY CREATED AND ESTABLISHED, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Said Board shall consist of eleven (11) members; four (4)
of said members shall be appointed by the City Commission, and the Mayor
and each Commissioner shall also be entitled to appoint one member to
said Board.
2 . Each member shall be a duly qualified and registered voter
of the City of Miami Beach, shall possess a record of interest in the
welfare and betterment of the City, shall be of proven ability and
integrity in his field of endeavor, and shall have demonstrated
unselfish devotion to civic duty.
3 . Each member shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year.
Any vacancy occurring on the Board shall be filled in the same manner
as was his/her predecessor.
4 . Members of this Board shall serve without compensation, but
sufficient funds shall be provided by the City Commission in the annual
City budget for reasonable and necessary expense to be incurred by the
Board in the performance of its duties. The City Manager shall provide
such administrative staff and clerical personnel as may be necessary to
assist the Board in the proper performance of its duties and functions.
5. The members of the Board shall select and designate from its
members a chairman and such other officers as may be deemed necessary,
who shall serve at the pleasure of the Board. All meetings of the Board
shall be open to the public. No action shall be taken by the Board
except by a majority vote of the entire membership. The Board may adopt
rules of procedure governing its meetings and actions on matters within
its jurisdiction, not inconsistent with the provisions of this
Resolution.

6. The City of Miami Beach Charter Review and Revision Board
shall be vested with the power and the authority to make a continuing
review of the Charter of the City of Miami Beach and to transmit its
recommendations to the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach for
such action thereon as the City Commission shall deem appropriate.
