A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF MEMBERSHIP AND
USER FEES FOR THE TENNIS CENTERS, POOLS, COMMUNITY
CENTERS YOUTH CENTER, PLAYGROUND RECREATION PROGRAMS
FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT; AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-18593
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, that effective March 1, 1990, there is hereby established a new fee
schedule for the summer recreation programs held at the Scott Rakow Youth
Center and the City's Playgrounds of the City Of Miami Beach Parks and
Recreation Department; ammending Resolution No. 86-18593 and in accordance
with Commission Memorandum hereby attached and made a part thereof .

SUBJECT: SUMMER PROG' • ' FEES - PLAYGROUNDS AND YOUTH CENTER
The Recreation Division's budget for F.Y. 89/90 was reduced by $599,421. Part
of this reduction was the funding transfer of $61,000 from the Playrounds and
Youth Center Section's General Fund Account to their respective Special Revenue
Accounts. This funding transfer was for the salaries of twenty-five (25)
personnel to conduct and operate the annualsummer programs at the Playgrounds
and Youth Center.
The funding transfer of $61,000 was predicated on increasing the summer
registration fee from $100.00 to $165.00 (Half price for each additional
child) . A comparative survey of neighboring cities indicates that our new fee
will be within a reasonable amount. (copy attached) The present registration fee
went into effect the summer of 1987 . The Parks and Recreation Department will
continue the present fee reduction policy for qualified residents .
ADMINISTRATION RECCOMENDATION
The Administration recommends increasing the registration fee for the summer
program at the Playgrounds and Youth Center from $100.00 to $165.00. (Half
price for each additional child)
