A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE FINANCE AND CITYWIDE
PROJECTS COMMITTEE AT ITS JUNE 28, 2019 MEETING TO
AUTHORIZE THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO WORK WITH THE
HISPANIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO CREATE TWO
HISTORICAL ARCHIVES VIDEOS TO BE AIRED ON MBTV 77
DURING HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH IN 2019, AND YEARLY
THEREAFTER.
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month runs each year from September 15 through October
15, and celebrates the long and important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in North
America; and 11__
WHEREAS, at its April 5, 2019 meeting, the Hispanic Affairs Committee ("HAC") made a
motion, requesting that the City Administration (the "Administration") record ands produce two
historical archives interview segments for a MBTV 77 segment, to be aired on MBTV 77 during
Hispanic Heritage Month in 2019, and yearly thereafter; and
WHEREAS, the Marketing and Communications Department is able to work with the HAC
to create two videos to rotate on MBTV during Hispanic Heritage Month; and
WHEREAS, at its June 28, 2019 meeting, the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee
supported the HAC's motion and recommended that the Administration work with the HAC to
identify a list of prominent Hispanic representatives in the Miami Beach community to create
videos utilizing the best and most appropriate methods and structure for the video; and
WHEREAS, the Administration will be authorized to identify a list of prominent Hispanic
representatives in the Miami Beach community to create videos utilizing the best and most
appropriate methods and structure for the video.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby accept the recommendation of the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee
on its June 28, 2019 meeting to authorize the City Administration to work with the Hispanic Affairs
Committee to create two historical archives videos to be aired on MBTV 77 during Hispanic
Heritage Month in 2019, and yearly thereafter.

SUBJECT:A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF

RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission accept and approve the
recommendation of the Finance and Citywide Projects Committee and authorize City
Administration to determine a list of prominent Hispanic representatives in the Miami Beach
community to create videos utilizing the best and most appropriate methods and structure for
the video.
ANALYSIS
On April 5 The Hispanic Affairs Committee made a motion regarding the creation of two
historical archives interview segments to be aired on MBTV during Hispanic Heritage Month,
2019 and yearly thereafter.
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 through October 15. The Marketing and
Communications Department is able to work with the Hispanic Affairs Committee to create two
videos to rotate on MBTV during this time.
