CHANGE ORDER #9 FOR AN EXTENSION OF SERVICES _ GOVEttNHENT

VENTURE, AND THOMPSON, VENTULETT, STAINBACK & :1:91-792-Cr-ICING
ASSOCIATES, INC. , TO ALLOW FOR AN EXTENSION OF
SERVICES THROUGH AUGUST 15, 1990 AT A LUMP SUM
COST OF $87, 625 TO BE FUNDED OUT OF BOND FUND
NO. 358.
WHEREAS, the period for delivery of architectural/engineering
services under the original contract for the Convention Center
Expansion Project that expired on September 1, 1989; and,
WHEREAS, the grace period for delivery of
architectural/engineering services expired January 1, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously, pursuant to
Resolution No. 90-19876, extended services through May 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommended further extending
services through August 15, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, funds are available from Bond Fund No. 358 and
appropriated into Work Order No. 2928 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, hereby authorizes Change Order
#9 for an extension of services under the Contract between the City
of Miami Beach and Borrelli-Frankel-Blitstein, a Joint Venture, and
Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates, Inc. , in order to
extend services through August 15, 1990 at a lump sum cost
of $87, 625 to be funded out of Bond Fund No. 358 .

Re: Request for extension of services under the Agreement between the
City of Miami Beach and Borrelli-Frankel-Blitatein, a joint venture,
and Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates, Inc., as amended
("the Agreement")
Dear Mr. Grimm:
Due to the extension in the scheduled time of construction completion of
the Miami Beach Convention Center Expansion project, we hereby request an
extension to our professional services under the above described
Agreement.
In consideration of the City extending the Agreement for the lump sum
amount of $87, 625, the Architect hereby agrees as follows:
1) The Architect will provide construction administration and field
representative services, as defined in the Agreement, through August
15, 1990.
2) Any current change orders or requests for change orders for the
project which are in process but not yet fully processed by August
15, 1990 will be finally completed and processed by the Architect,
even if services relating thereto will have to be rendered after
August 15, 1990.
3) Any punch list items for the project which are not yet resolved by
August 15, 1990 will be coordinated and completed by the Architect,
even if that requires the ArohiteCt to render services after August
15, 1990.

4) The foregoing lump sum fee stall not include services for the purpose
of assisting the City in preparations and/or negotiations pertaining
to the defense of any claim from The George Hyman Construction
Company or any other Subcontractor on the above referenced pro3ect.
S) The Architect hereby releases the City from previous claims for
additional insurance premiums and time and material expenditures
related to the roof repairs at M.B.C.C. , as requested in previous
correspondence dated January 15, 1990.
