A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH SUPPORTING AND ENCOURAGING THE CREATION
OF MIAMI BEACH CLEAN CITY COUNCIL, INC. , A NON-
PROFIT CORPORATION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A
GRASS ROOTS CITIZENS, INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE LITTER
PREVENTION AND BETTER PROPERTY MAINTENANCE WITHIN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest of the City of Miami
Beach to encourage and support whenever possible citizen efforts
for a clean and attractive City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been advised that there is
a proposal to create Miami Beach Clean City Council, Inc. , a non-
profit Florida corporation, which will be a grass roots citizens '
organization working with neighborhood groups and merchants to
promote litter prevention and better property maintenance, and to
formulate advertising campaigns to assist in achieving these
objectives; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that Miami Beach Clean City Council ,
Inc. would receive funding from the City, the State of Florida and
private contributions; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the Board of Directors of Miami
Beach Clean City Council, Inc. be composed of seven residents of
the City, one from each of seven geographical areas of the City,
to be appointed initially by the City Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the
City of Miami Beach does hereby support and encourage the creation
of Miami Beach Clean City Council, Inc. , a non-profit Florida
corporation, for the purpose of providing a grass roots citizens '
initiative to promote litter prevention and better property
maintenance in the City of Miami Beach.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of September , 1990.
