A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 89-19648; AND ADOPTING A NEW
SCHEDULE OF FEES TO REFLECT COSTS FOR MAKING PHOTOCOPIES OF PUBLIC
RECORDS, FOR TRANSMITTING PUBLIC RECORDS VIA FAX MACHINE, AND FOR
GENERATING COMPUTER REPORTS OF PUBLIC RECORDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH.
WHEREAS, City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 89-19648 established fees and
charges for making photographs or copies of public records; and
WHEREAS, there have been changes in Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and
United StGaes pc tS_i rates h uve increased; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has determined that the following fees are
reasonable and in conformance with law.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA that Resolution No. 89-19648 is hereby repealed in its entirety,
and that a new fee schedule for photocopies, Fax transmissions, and computer
generated reports of City of Miami Beach public records is hereby authorized and
adopted as follows:

3. Boards and Committees Book 6.00
4. Certification of copies 1.00
5. City Agenda (with back-up material) , each 5.00

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 89-19648; AND ADOPTING A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES TO
REFLECT COSTS FOR MAKING PHOTOCOPIES OF PUBLIC RECORDS, FOR TRANSMITTING
PUBLIC RECORDS VIA FAX MACHINE, AND FOR GENERATING COMPUTER REPORTS OF
PUBLIC RECORDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
On June 21, 1989, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 89-19648 adopting a
schedule of fees to reflect actual per unit costs for making photocopies of public
records. Since then the Florida Legislature has amended Chapter 119 regarding the
permissible fee for making photocopies, necessitating a reduction in the flat rate
for photocopies. In the last year, the U.S. Postal System increased the postage
charges, necessitating an increase in the fee for mailing City Commission agenda
titles. This proposed resolution also includes an increase in the fee for the Annual
Budget, and the Boards and Committees Book to more closely reflect the actual cost
per unit.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
repealing Resolution No. 89-19648, and adopting a new schedule of fees to reflect
costs for making photocopies of public records, for transmitting public records via
fax machine, and for generating computer reports of public records of the City of
Miami Beach.
