RESOLUTION 91-20334 RESOLUTION NO. 91-20334 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SUPPORTING THE DADE COUNTY HEALTH CARE IMPROVEMENT ONE HALF PERCENT SURTAX FOR JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. WHEREAS, on the September 3 , 1991 ballot the following question will appear: DADE COUNTY HEALTH CARE IMPROVEMENT SURTAX FOR JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL To improve health care at Jackson Memorial Hospital, shall Dade county levy a 1/2 percent surtax on sales and other transactions and use the proceeds for the operation, maintenance and administration of Jackson Memorial Hospital to improve health care services such as: * emergency room treatment/trauma care for life-threatening injuries; * critical care for infants and children; * obstetric and gynecological services; * treating cancer and heart disease; * treating severe burns, spinal cord injuries, and Alzheimer disease? ;and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach City Commission believes that the 1/2 percent surtax for the benefit of Jackson Memorial Hospital is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach and Dade County; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach wishes to express its support for the 1/2 percent surtax for Jackson Memorial Hospital. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach does hereby support the Dade County Health Care Improvement One Half Percent Surtax for Jackson Memorial Hospital. r PASSED and ADOPTED this day of , 1991.
