A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING SOUTH FLORIDA AS HOST OF
THE 1998 GOODWILL GAMES
WHEREAS, the existence of the 1998 Goodwill Games in South
Florida would be a significant benefit to our community and South
Florida as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the existence of the Goodwill Games would provide an
additional recreational facility that would benefit our citizens
and attract business and industry to South Florida; and
WHEREAS, major sports events are a means of uniting and
binding a community; and
WHEREAS, the Goodwill Games has expressed a strong interest in
locating the 1998 event in South Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this body, on behalf of the
citizens of the City of Miami Beach, urges the Goodwill Games to
bring the 1998 Games to South Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of October , 1991.
