A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 91-20354
WHICH CREATED THE COMMUNITY
RELATIONS BOARD, BY PROVIDING THAT
MEMBERS APPOINTED TO THE BOARD SHALL
SERVE FOR A TERM OF TWO (2) YEARS,
AND REQUIRING THAT THE NATIONAL
ORGANIZATION FOR WOMEN ("NOW") BE
INCLUDED WITHIN THOSE ORGANIZATIONS
WHICH OFFER RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE
BOARD.
WHEREAS, on September 11, 1991 the City Commission passed
Resolution No. 91-20354 which created a new Community Relations
Board, to become effective on February 1, 1992 , and
WHEREAS, Paragraph 3 of Resolution No. 91-20354 provided for
the appointment of eleven (11) members to the Board, but did not
specify a term of service for said members; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that members of the
Community Relations Board should serve for a term of two years; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission also believes that the National
Organization for Women ("NOW") should be included within those
organizations specified within paragraph 6 of Resolution No. 91-
20354 which offer recommendations to the Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: that Paragraphs 3 and 6 of
Resolution No. 91-20354 are hereby amended to read as follows:
3 . The number of members of said board shall be eleven
(11) , the Mayor and each Commissioner appointing one (1)
member each and the remaining four (4) shall be appointed
at large. Members shall be appointed fol: a term of two
(2) years.

6. It shall be a requirement that recommendations be
obtained from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

Discrimination S.A.L.A.D. ) , Anti-Defamation League
(A.D.L. ) , Dade ActionPAC, National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P. ) and the
National Organization for Women (NOW) .
