A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND AUTHORIZE A PRE-
EXISTING IMPREST CHECKING ACCOUNT (POLICE SIU ACCOUNT)
WITH AMERICAN SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT STRATEGIC INVESTIGATIONS UNIT TO PAY FOR
INVESTIGATIVE COSTS AND EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH
NARCOTICS INVESTIGATIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, a special Police Detective Bureau interest-bearing
imprest checking account has been established with American Savings
and Loan Association to pay for costs associated with narcotics
investigations, and
WHEREAS, said account will be funded by transfer(s) from the
City' s General Operating Fund, Police Department budget totaling
$4, 800. 00 for the 1991/92 Fiscal Year, and
WHEREAS, one of the following two employees is authorized to
sign checks or make withdrawals from the account:
A. Police SIU Commander, or in his absence,
B. the SIU Commander' s Designee, and
WHEREAS, once yearly, the balance of said account will be
provided to the City Finance Department for recording to the City's
Financial System.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT the City Commission
acknowledges and authorizes the pre-existing account of the Police
Strategic Investigations Unit, established to pay for investigative
costs and expenses associated with narcotics investigations.

THE POLICE DEPARTMENT STRATEGIC INVESTIGATIONS UNIT
TO PAY FOR THE COSTS AND EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH
NARCOTICS INVESTIGATIONS .
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City
Commission approve the attached Proposed
Resolution.
