A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE 3RD AMENDMENT
TO THE CONFISCATION FUND BUDGET, PROVIDING
FUNDS FOR (1) MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT
REPRESENTATION AT THE NATIONAL POLICE MEMORIAL
SERVICES HONORING THOSE OFFICERS KILLED IN THE
LINE OF DUTY ($5, 000) ; AND (2) THE CREATION OF
A SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM IN THE NORTH AREA OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH RUN BY THE MIAMI BEACH
POLICE DEPARTMENT, POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE, AND
THE BOYS CLUB OF AMERICA, INC. ($7 , 000) .
WHEREAS, Section 932 . 704 (3) (a) , Florida Statutes, provides
for the transfer of seized property and/or funds after public
notice; such funds to be utilized for the appropriation and
expenditures of the Police Confiscation Fund for law
enforcement purposes other than normal operating expenses; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that the needs for expenditures and
appropriation exist and the expenditure or appropriation of
forfeiture funds is in compliance with Section 932 . 704 (3) (a) ;
and
WHEREAS, such funds are available in the Police
Confiscation Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT the City Commission
hereby amends the FY 1991/92 Police Confiscation Fund Budget
for the City of Miami Beach by an amount of $12 , 000 . 00 , said
amendment to result in the amended budget as reflected
hereinbelow.

hereby certify that the aforementioned proposed request for
expenditures from the City of Miami Beach Police Confiscation
Trust Fund, for the 1991/92 fiscal year providing funds for
Miami Beach Police Department representation at the National
Police Memorial Services honoring those Officers killed in the
line of duty; and the creation of a Summer Youth Program in
the north area of the City of Miami Beach run by the Miami
Beach Police Department, Police Athletic League, and the Boys
Club of America, Inc. complies with the provisions of Section
932 . 704 (3 ) (a) , Florida Statutes.

The Administration requests an amendment to Resolution •
91-20367 for the operating budget of the Police Confiscation
Trust Account to appropriate an additional $12 , 000 . 00
providing funds for (1) Miami Beach Police Department
representation at the National Police Memorial Services
honoring those Officers killed in the line of duty ($5, 000) ;
and the creation of a Summer Youth Program in the north area
of the City of Miami Beach run by the Miami Beach Police
Department, Police Athletic League, and the Boys Club of
America, Inc. ($7 , 000) . The additional appropriation will
increase the Police Confiscation budget to $598 , 377 . 00 for the
fiscal year 1991/92 .
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission amend
the operating budget for the Police Confiscation Trust Account
by an amount of $12, 000 .
