Resolution 2019-31023 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-31023 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RETROACTIVELY APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS FROM BOUCHER BROTHERS, INC., BEACH TOWING, INC., TREMONT TOWING, INC., LUXURIOUS LIVING REALTY, INC., VICTOR PULIDO, AND 8701 COLLINS DEVELOPMENT, LLC, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,000.00, FOR THE CITY'S 2019 HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH ACTIVITIES, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPROPRIATE SUCH SPONSORSHIP FUNDS AND DONATIONS TO MAKE ANY NECESSARY REIMBURSEMENTS AND/OR EXPENDITURES IN FURTHERANCE OF AND CONSISTENT WITH THE EVENT. WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month runs each year from September 15 through October 15, and celebrates the long and important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in North America; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach hosts an annual Hispanic Heritage Month and holds events throughout the month promote a celebration of Hispanic culture in our City; and WHEREAS, Hispanic Affairs Committee members worked diligently to identify funding sources to off-set the costs of producing the activities, and secured partnerships through sponsorships and donations from Boucher Brothers, Inc., Beach Towing, Inc., Tremont Towing, Inc., Luxurious Living Realty, Inc., Victor Pulido, and 8701 Collins Development, LLC; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission retroactively approve the sponsorships, and accept the donations from aforestated sponsors, in the total amount of $4,000.00, to cover the costs of the 2019 Hispanic Heritage month activities; and WHEREAS, the City Administration further recommends that Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to appropriate such sponsorship funds and donations to make any necessary expenditures and/or reimbursements in furtherance of and consistent with the aforestated event and its purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby retroactively approve and authorize the acceptance of donations and sponsorships from Boucher Brothers, Inc., Beach Towing, Inc., Tremont Towing, Inc., Luxurious Living Realty, Inc., Victor Pulido, and 8701 Collins Development, LLC, in the total amount of $4,000.00, for the City's 2019 Hispanic Heritage Month activities, and further authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to appropriate such sponsorship funds and donations to make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures in furtherance of and consistent with the event.
