RESOLUTION NO. 92-20547
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE
INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND EXPOSITION CENTER
COMMITTEE (ITEC) AND THE SITE SELECTION
SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE ITEC, CREATE SEATS FOR
MIAMI BEACH AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCEED
TO DETERMINE NEEDS TO MAKE THE PROJECT A
REALITY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, at the World Trade Center luncheon on June 30, 1992 ,
Mr. Gilberto Bousquet Bomeny, President and owner of the World
Trade Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, expressed strong interest in
developing a World Trade Center complex in Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bomeny and his firm own the Carillon property on
Miami Beach and are proposing the concept of the World Trade
Center; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a request be made of the
International Trade and Exposition Center Committee (ITEC) and the
Site Selection Subcommittee of the ITEC, to create seats for Miami
Beach, and that the Administration be authorized to proceed to
determine needs to make the project a reality.
