Carl City Manage RECREATION DIVISION IMPREST CHECKING ACCOUNT -- CHANGE SUBJECT: IN AUTHORIZED SIGNATURES ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the Resolution changing authorized signatures for the Recreation Division Imprest Checking Account. BACKGROUND: The Recreation Division of the Recreation, Culture and Parks Department utilizes an imprest checking account to pay performers, entertainers and contractual instructors. Resolution 92-20669 established the existing limitations of the account as well as identifying the four (4) authorized signatures. The signatures identified at that time were of the Assistant City Manager, Parks Superintendent, and Recreation Superintendent. As of February 1, 1993 the new Director for the Recreation, Culture & Parks Department has been on board. Therefore, the Director should replace the Assistant City Manager as an authorized signature. ANALYSIS: Currently, to provide an added checks and balances system, two signatures are required on each check issued by the Recreation Division. Due to the selection of a Department Director, this temporary change in authorized signatures is no longer required. A new Resolution must be approved now that the Recreation, Culture and Parks Director has been selected. The four (4) individuals authorized to sign imprest checks will be: Stuart L. Rogel, Assistant City Manager Kevin Smith, Recreation, Culture and Parks Director Alan Ricke, Recreation Superintendent Daniel Keys, Parks Superintendent All other sections of Resolution #92-20669 will remain unchanged. CONCLUSION: The Administration recommends approval of the attached Resolution modifying the authorized signatures for the Recreation Division's Imprest Checking Account. These changes are due to the selection of a Recreation, Culture and Parks Director. 32 AGENDA ITEM DATE 2- iUi ULu tIUN NO. 93-20724 Authorizing creation and maintenance of an imprest checking account for the Recreation Division with Nationsbank, formerly NCNB (North Carolina National Bank) of Miami Beach; repealing Opwwwwommmm Resolution 90-20069.
