Resolution 2019-31079 RESOLUTION NO., 2019-31079
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ELECTING DAVID RICHARDSON, GROUP VI, AS
VICE-MAYOR, FOR A TERM COMMENCING ON NOVEMBER 25, 2019 AND
TERMINATING ON FEBRUARY 29, 2020.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to City Charter Section 2.04, the City Commission shall, at its first
meeting after each General Election, elect from its membership a Vice-Mayor who during the
absence or disability of the Mayor shall perform the duties of Mayor; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Commission established a policy of rotating the position of
Vice-Mayor every four months, and the next Vice-Mayor Group is Group VI; and
WHEREAS, the term for the next Vice-Mayor is November 25, 2019 through February 29,
2020, and Commissioner David Richardson is next in the rotation to serve as Vice-Mayor.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,FLORIDA,Commissioner David Richardson is hereby elected as
Vice-Mayor, for a term commencing on November 25, 2019 and terminating on February 29, 2020.
PASSED and ADOPTED THIS 25th day of November 2019.
