A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND
AUTHORIZE A PRE-EXISTING CHECKING ACCOUNT WITH
FINANCIAL FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION
FOR THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE CHILDREN'S RELIEF
FUND TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST OF AN ANNUAL FOOD
AND TOY GIVEAWAY TO MIAMI BEACH RESIDENTS'
CHILDREN WHO ARE NEEDY AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO
THESE CHILDREN.
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, a Miami Beach Police Children' s Relief
interest-bearing checking account has been established with
Financial Federal Savings and Loan Association to pay for expenses
incurred for needy Miami Beach residents ' children; and,
WHEREAS, said accountwill be funded by contributions from
private sector and fundraising events; and,
WHEREAS, one of the following two employees are authorized to
sign checks or make withdrawals from the account:
A. Chairperson of Miami Beach Police Children's Relief Fund
(designated by the Chief of Police) .
B. The Chairperson' s designee; and,
WHEREAS, once yearly, the balance of said account will be
provided to the City Finance Department for recording to the City's
Financial System.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT, the City Commission
acknowledges and authorizes the pre-existing account of the Miami
Beach Police Relief Fund, established to pay or the annual food
and toy giveaway and other assistance to chil•ren.

SUBJECT: MIAMI BEACH POLICE CHILDREN'S RELIEF FUND.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration hereby recommends that the City Commission
acknowledge and authorize the Miami Beach Police Children' s Relief
Fund.
BACKGROUND
The Miami Beach Police Children's Relief Fund is a privately
supported fund that purchases toys for the underprivileged children
of the City of Miami Beach each year. All of the monies come from
private donations and fundraising events. The purpose of this
Resolution is to establish the fund within the financial records of
the City of Miami Beach.
ANALYSIS
This Resolution will authorize the creation of a fund for the
recording of the funds, revenues and expenditures within the City's
Financial System.
CONCLUSION
This will benefit the City in that all revenues and expenditures
will be recorded in the City's Financial System.
