A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA REQUESTING THAT THE
ADMINISTRATION INCLUDE IN THE CITY' S
BUDGET FOR THE 1993-94 FISCAL YEAR
PROVISION FOR THE HIRING OF A
MINIMUM OF THIRTY ADDITIONAL POLICE
OFFICERS.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission believe that the safety
of visitors and residents in the City of Miami Beach depends upon
having a police force with sufficient police officers to protect
the City against crime; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission believe that there is
currently a need for a minimum of thirty additional police officers
in the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, having additional police officers will improve police
response time to citizen calls and will thereby increase the margin
of safety for citizens within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the
Administration is hereby requested to include in the City' s budget
for the 1993-94 Fiscal Year provision for the hiring of a minimum
of thirty additional police officers.
