A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WAIVING SPECIAL
EVENT FEES, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $18,846.12, FOR
THE FOLLOWING WINTER PARTY EVENTS: THE UNDER ONE
SUN: EVOLUTION TO BE HELD ON MARCH 7, 2020 AT NIKKI
BEACH CLUB, AND THE BEACH PARTY TO BE HELD ON
MARCH 8, 2020 ON LUMMUS PARK BEACHFRONT AT 12TH
STREET.
WHEREAS, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, is a Florida not-for-profit
corporation that is celebrating its 27th Anniversary Season in presenting the Winter Party
Festival throughout Miami Beach (March 4-10, 2020); and
WHEREAS, the 2020 Winter Party will be host to more than 10,000 visitors to Miami
Beach from around the world; and
WHEREAS; the event has experienced phenomenal growth after the past quarter-
century and continues to position Miami Beach is an LGBTQ travel destination; and
WHEREAS, the Under One Sun: Evolution Event will be held on March 7, 2020, at the
Nikki Beach Club, and the Winter Party Beach Party Event will be held on March 8, 2020, at the
Lummus Park beachfront at 12th Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends, and the Mayor and City Commission
approve, the waiver of special event fees, in the total amount of $18,846.12, for the 27th
Anniversary Winter Party Festival, which represents $11,993.75 in square footage fees; $1,495
in Police administrative fees; $2,250 in Vehicle Beach Access Passes; $2,357.37 in Lummus
Park User fees; the application fee of$250.00; and the permit fee of$500.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby waive special event fees, in the total amount of $18,846.12, for the
following Winter Party Events: the Under One Sun: Evolution to be held on March 7, 2020 at
Nikki Beach Club, and the Beach Party to be held on March 8, 2019 on Lummus Park
beachfront at 12th Street.
