A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE MAYOR'S
APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER MICKY STEINBERG AS THE
CITY'S DESIGNEE TO THE MIAMI-DADE TRANSPORTATION
PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S GOVERNING BOARD.
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization ("TPO")
Governing Board approves federally required plans and.transportation policies; and
WHEREAS, currently, City of Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber serves on the TPO
Governing Board as one of the eight elected municipal officials; one from each of the eight
municipalities with a population over 50,000; and
WHEREAS, the TPO Governing Board is vested with the responsibility for exercising the
powers of the TPO including the final decision on all policy matters, adoption or endorsement of
transportation plans and programs, adoption of budgets, approval of agreements or contracts,
adoption of rules, and establishing or changing its internal operating structure; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.04 of the City Charter, the Mayor called for a
Special City Commission meeting to be held on January 27, 2020; and
WHEREAS, at the January 27, 2020 Special City Commission meeting, the Mayor
requested that the City Commission ratify his appointment of Commissioner Micky
Steinberg as the City's designee to the TPO Governing Board; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Gelber will be unavailable to attend the TPO's September 2020
meeting and this designation will allow Commissioner Steinberg to attend the September
2020 meeting in the Mayor's stead.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby ratify the Mayor's appointment of Commissioner Micky Steinberg as
the City's designee to the Miami-Dade County Transportation Planning Organization's
Governing Board.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, will hold
a Special Commission Meeting on January 27, 2020,at 8:55 a.m., in the First Floor Conference
Room, 1700 Convention Center Drive, First Floor Breezeway, Miami Beach, Florida, regarding
ratifying Mayor Gelber's appointment of Micky Steinberg as the City's designee to the Miami-Dade
Transportation Planning Organization (TPO).
INTERESTED PARTIES are invited to appear at this retreat, or be represented by an agent, or to
express their views in writing addressed to the City Commission, do the City Clerk, 1700 Convention
Center Drive, 1st Floor, City Hall, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. Materials relating to this retreat will
be available for public inspection during normal business hours in the City Clerk's Office, 1700
Convention Center Drive, 1st Floor, City Hall, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. This retreat may be
continued, and under such circumstances, additional legal notice need not be provided.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Fla. Stat., the City hereby advises the public that if a person decides
to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at its
retreat, such person must ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record
includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This notice does not
constitute consent by the City for the introduction or admission of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant
evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.
