Roll Call - Meeting convened at 3:45 p.m. All members 1 present. 2. Acceptance of Minutes of February 7, 1990 1 3. Report of Executive Directori;C) Executive Director submitted oral and written reports: a. Block 9 - Marriott/Rahn Proposal 1 Summary of status of negotiations between Agency and proposer including open issues. Marriott has agreed to make funds available to compensate the outside consultants required during the extended negotiation period. b. Cobb Partners, Inc. Redevelopment Agency is in the process of initiating negotiations relative to the acquisition of option Block 53. A status report relative to the three eminent domain cases (Mendelson, Friend, Azcui) on Blocks 78 and 80 has been prepared by the Agency' s legal counsel and a map indicating the properties is filed with the records of the meeting. Of the three cases, the leading action, Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency v. Mendelson, has a March 6, 1990 non-evidentiary hearing set. On February 21, 1990, the Court will consider Defendant property owners' Motion for Mediation and Motion to Add Cobb Partners Development, Inc. as a party plaintiff; they are further seeking to have the Court enter an Order referring the Mendelson case to mediation so that they may present their settlement negotions to Plaintiffs. 4. Redevelopment Agency Memo No. 90-1 2-5 Status report: I Proposed Marriott/Rahn Resort Hotel Development Memo summarizes Mar r iott/Rahn' s proposal dated October 23, 1989, responding to Agency' s RFP on Block 9, and outlines certain open issues between the Agency and Marriott/Rahn. Executive Director advised that South Pointe Advisory Board has been reactivated. Herman Rubin, representing South Pointe Association, (SPA) requested they be kept informed of negotiations. Chairman Daoud will speak before the SPA. Administration directed to meet with SPA and keep them informed. 6. Report of Agency Attorney a. Mrs. Dougherty responded to Mrs. Gabrielle Nash- 5 Tessler' s inquiry on status of Mendelson property for Cobb Partners development. b. Mrs. Dougherty responded to Commissioner Shapiro' s 6-7 inquiry concerning The Miami Herald' s article on Judge Gale with respect to jurisdiction in Carner- Mason (Marina) litigation. 7.
