1. Roll Call - Meeting commenced at 8:51 p.m. All members 1
present.
2. Acceptance of Minutes of April 19, 1989. 1
3. Report of Executive Director 1
Executive Director submitted written report:
a. Old Police Station Development Project - Agency is
proceeding with process of issuing tax exempt
bonds. Dade County Commission expected to give
their final approval at 6/6/89 meeting. It is
expected that bonds will be issued on or about
6/14/89. Cobb Partner's preliminary design of
project is scheduled before the City's Design
Review Board on 6/8/89. Administration continues
to negotiate with property owners for acquistion
of property within the site.
b. South Pointe Elementary School - Dade County
School Board has advised that design work is
proceeding on schedule. Demolition of old
structure was awarded on 4/1/89 to MCO
Construction, Inc. . and was to have been completed
6/8/89. Demolition has been delayed due to
asbestos (now being removed) being found in the
building. Residents on the site will have moved
by 6/1/89 and the City will proceed with
demolition of other buildings.
4. Old Business
a. Bi-Weekly Finance Report (Copy of report filed
with records of meeting.)
5. New Business
a. Public hearing scheduled for May 24, 1989, 1, 2
10:00 a.m. , regarding redevelopment area tax
increment bonds not to exceed $7 million.
78-89 b. Resolution adopted establishing a policy for 2
submission of proposed legislation and other
matters to be placed on the agenda whereby said
items shall be submitted to the Agency's members
on or before the Friday preceding regularly
scheduled meetings, or three working days prior to
special meetings, and requiring a 5/7ths
affirmative vote for consideration of any item not
meeting this submission schedule policy.
c. Chairman Daoud advised of seeing fire (suspected 1
arson) at old school building (South Beach
Elementary) and urged demolition be accomplished
immediately. (see 3.b. above)
