A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT THE
IN-KIND DONATION FROM ALL SMOOTH LAWN
MAINTENANCE & LANDSCAPING, INC. AND GROOT
HOSPITALITY, LLC IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $20,000, FOR
THE BEAUTIFICATION OF THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE
DEPARTMENT'S MEMORIAL WALL, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO MAKE SUCH
EXPENDITURES OR REIMBURSEMENTS CONSISTENT WITH
THE AFORESTATED EVENT AND PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, in May 1998, the City of Miami Beach erected a memorial wall
commemorating the brave men and women of the Miami Beach Police Department killed in the
line of duty who gave their lives for others; and
WHEREAS, to further honor our Miami Beach Police Officers, All Smooth Lawn
Maintenance & Landscaping, Inc. and Groot Hospitality, LLC generously donated landscaping
services to further enhance the memorial wall; and
WHEREAS, this beautification donation has a total value of $20,000, which includes
plants, materials, and labor; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission approve and
authorize the City's acceptance of the aforestated donation, and authorize the City Manager, or
his designee, to make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures of the aforestated
donation in furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated event and purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the City of Miami Beach to accept the in-kind
donation from All Smooth Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping, Inc. and Groot Hospitality, LLC, in
the total amount of $20,000 for the beautification of the Miami Beach Police Department's
Memorial Wall, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make such expenditures or
reimbursements consistent with the aforestated event and purpose.

Adopt the resolution.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
In May 1998, the City of Miami Beach erected a memorial wall commemorating the brave men
and women of the Miami Beach Police Department killed in the line of duty who gave their lives
for others. To further honor our Miami Beach Police Officers,All Smooth Lawn Maintenance &
Landscaping, Inc. and Groot Hospitality, LLC generously donated landscaping services to
further enhance the memorial wall. This beautification donation has a total value of $20,000,
which includes plants, materials, and labor.
CONCLUSION
The City Administration recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the City's
acceptance of the aforestated donation, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to
make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures of the aforestated donation in
furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated event and purpose.
