AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
BY AMENDING CHAPTER 106, ENTITLED "TRAFFIC AND
VEHICLES," BY AMENDING ARTICLE II, ENTITLED
"METERED PARKING," BY AMENDING DIVISION 1,
ENTITLED "GENERALLY," BY AMENDING SECTION 106-
55, ENTITLED "PARKING RATES, FEES, AND
PENALTIES; EXCEPTIONS"; AND BY AMENDING
APPENDIX A TO THE CITY CODE, ENTITLED "FEE
SCHEDULE," TO ESTABLISH PARKING RATES AND
PENALTIES FOR THE NEW COLLINS PARK GARAGE,
AND TO MAKE CORRECTIONS TO OTHER PARKING
RATES AND FEES SET FORTH IN APPENDIX "A"; AND
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, REPEALER,
SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, construction of the new Collins Park Garage, which is scheduled to
be completed this year, is currently underway on the site of former Municipal Parking Lot
No. P052, located at 300 23rd Street, and on the adjacent lot; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission now desire to adopt a parking rate
and fee schedule for this new facility; and
WHEREAS, the parking rates and fees set forth herein are consistent with other
City-owned garages in the area.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 106, "Traffic and Vehicles," Article II, "Metered Parking," Division
1, "Generally," Section 106-55, "Parking rates, fees, and penalties; exceptions" of the
Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is hereby amended as follows:

SECTION 3. CODIFICATION.
It is the intention of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance shall become and be made
part of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida. The sections of this ordinance may
be renumbered or re-lettered to accomplish such intention, and,the word "ordinance" may
be changed to "section", "article", or other appropriate word.
SECTION 4. REPEALER.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, subsection, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the
remainder shall not be affected by such invalidity.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following adoption.

RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the ordinance on second
reading public hearing.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Municipal Parking Lot No. P052, located on 300 23rd Street, was combined with the adjacent lot
for the construction of the new Collins Park garage which is scheduled to be completed this
year.
ANALYSIS
As a new municipal parking garage, the parking fee schedule for this new facility is established
by ordinance and approved by the Mayor and City Commission. The proposed parking fee
schedule is as follows: •

Transient rates:
0-1 hour $2.00
1-2 hours 4.00
2-3 hours 6.00
3-4 hours 8.00
4-5 hours 9.00

These hourly rates are consistent with other city owned garages in the area.
CONCLUSION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission approve the Ordinance on First
Reading and set a second and final public hearing.
