NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby commemorate Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States, and authorize the City Administration to create special programming to celebrate the African American community in Miami Beach.
