Resort Tax Income January 99 $2,184,151 (0.32 % change) January 98 $1,649,542 (0.05 % change) January 97 $1,573,268 Question 3: Why we can't keep the level of clean up and security year round so as not to have these extremes when we have a special event? Answer: Security and Sanitation enhancements are fluxuated, based on the type of activity and demand placed on these services. However, efforts from Code Compliance, Parks Landscaping, Parking Services, and Enforcement remain constant. Question 4: Will we be doing the same level of work for the Boat Show and Pow Wow? Answer: Yes, special attention will be given to these events, although they will be relative, in proportion to the size of these events. Also, efforts to enhance Miami Beach in anticipation of annual seasonal visitors are undertaken each year. Question 5: Can we review the quality of some of the events which took place on Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive during Super Bowl week, determine what our standards are and if specific criteria needs to be added. Answer: The following suggestions are recommended: 1 )Further limits on the number of events per night 2) Stricter enforcement of event sites via Police coordinators 3) Stricter enforcement of club capacities by the Fire Department 4) Enforcement of the Promoter Ordinance 5) Prohibition of events requiring street closure. Coverage aired daily from January 22 thru Super Bowl Sunday, JanualY 31. Our newscasts were anchored by Keith OlbermaUll and Chris Myers, and included expert analysis from former players Ronnie Lon, Jackie Slater and Dill Maas. The reports also included many live and taped interviews with parlicipant<; from this years game ~Uld other prominent athletes and celebrities.
