•Citywide Calls for Service rose 5.61% from 2018 to 2019. When comparing
2019 VS 2020, citywide Calls for Service increased by 80.94% (Primarily due
to Watch Orders and Park and Walk Details)
•The ADCD accounted for an average of 15.32% of all citywide calls for
service over the three-year period
•South Beach accounted for an average of 58.56% of all citywide calls for
service over the three-year period

This past summer, the Miami Beach Police Department completed a
comprehensive review of staffing allocations department wide. As such,
the Art Deco Cultural District (ADCD) benefited from the re-allocation of
police personnel.
The old staffing plan allocation prior to September 14, 2020, was 15
officers per day divided over three shifts in the district. Currently, our new
allocation on weekdays has approximately 25 to 27 police officers per
day. On weekends that number increases to an average of 35 police
officers per day.
Deployment: Bicycle Patrol ATV’s, Police Golf Carts, Walking Beats,
Motorcycle Patrol
POLICE STAFFING
In addition to the efforts noted above,our Neighborhood Resource Officers visited over 20 area
hotels offering each a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)security survey.
This survey provided detailed recommendations on how to best keep their property and guests safe.
Our Homeless Resource Unit was also included in these visits to specifically address concerns along
the perimeter of certain properties.

OPERATION ADCD -SAFE
The City of Miami Beach continues to be a destination “hot spot” for people from all over the World.
Unfortunately, there is a perception among some of those that visit us that our City is a place where
“anything goes”.
The Miami Beach Police Department has organized a dedicated group of department personnel and
assets to change this narrative. For the next two months, effective November 30th the Department will
deploy additional personnel into the ADCD to focus specifically on a myriad of activity.
The following are those assets:

o Supplemented periodically by the Miami Dade County Robbery Interdiction Detail (RID)
•The Crime Suppression Team (CST)
•The Strategic Investigations Section (SIS)
•The Traffic Enforcement Team

•Patrol Officers focused on fixed posts and high visibility in problem areas (Afternoon and Midnight
