Resolution 2020-31495 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-31495 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO COORDINATE WITH THE OFFICE OF THE CONDOMINIUM OMBUDSMAN TO ESTABLISH REGULAR OFFICE HOURS FOR THE OMBUDSMAN TO MEET WITH CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CONSTITUENTS, AND TO PROVIDE OFFICE SPACE FOR SUCH MEETINGS TO TAKE PLACE HERE IN CITY HALL. WHEREAS, created by an act of the Legislature in 2004, the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman was established to be a resource for unit owners, board members, condominium associations and others and to improve the quality of life for Florida condominium owners through prompt, professional and courteous service as a neutral, informative and accessible resource; and WHEREAS, on July 2, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Spencer Hennings as Florida's Condominium Ombudsman; and WHEREAS, currently, the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman is based in Tallahassee, Florida, and has a satellite office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and WHEREAS, having direct and meaningful access to the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman would be beneficial to condominium owners and association boards of the City of Miami Beach Condo; and WHEREAS, as such, the Mayor and City Commission direct the City Administration to reach out and coordinate with the Office of the Ombudsman to establish regular office hours for the Ombudsman to meet with the Miami Beach constituents, and to accommodate the office hours by providing office space for such meetings in City Hall. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the City Administration to coordinate with the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman to establish regular office hours for the Ombudsman to meet with City of Miami Beach constituents, and to provide office space for such meetings to take place in City Hall.
