SUBJECT: August 2019 Homeless Census
The purpose of this Letter To Commission is to advise that the City’s Homeless Outreach
Office will be participating in the countywide Point in Time Census managed by the Miami-
Dade County Homeless Trust on January 21-22, 2021.
The bi-annual census is the physical count of the homeless on City streets between 10pm
on Thursday, January 21 and 6am on Friday, January 22, 2021.
The Homeless Outreach Office will close at noon on Thursday, January 21and will remain
closed Friday, January 22, 2021 to enable staff participation in the census. The office will
re-open on Monday, January 25 and resume normal operations. Miami Beach Police
officers are able to make direct shelter placements during this time.
