SUBJECT: 1999 ICE SKATING COMPETITION
It is with great pride and pleasure that the Parks and Recreation Department would like to inform you
of the recent success of the Scott Rakow Ice Skating Team. The "Team" participated in the 1999 Ice
Skating Institute (I.S.I.) Winter Classic and placed 7th out of 97 teams. The Scott Rakow Youth Center
Team, which consisted of forty children, ages 5 - 16 years old, skated with drive, determination and
confidence.
The I.S.I. Winter Classic was held in Ft. Lauderdale on February 19 -21, 1999. Teams came from as
far as Ecuador, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina
Georgia, Massachusetts and Florida.
The Scott Rakow Youth Center skaters are proud of their success and grateful for the opportunity to
represent the City of Miami Beach to the world.
