A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE 1ST AMENDMENT
TO THE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1985/86 AND
PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of providing a more uniform and
efficient enforcement of all life safety and codes enforcement process; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of simplifying the overall
permitting and plans review process in order to more efficiently meet the needs of citizens
and developers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has determined that by transferring the
functions of the Development Services Department to the Fire Department, the
aforementioned may be achieved; and
WHEREAS, this transfer of functions will require inter-departmental transfer of
funds and that no additional funds will be required;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF ,
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida has ascertained that the following amendments to the appropriations for
expenditures for Fiscal Year 1985/86 are adopted, thereby amending the General Operating
Budget.

SUBJECT: FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE FY 1985/86 GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET
On November 20, 1985, I had informed you by LTC 215-1985, that effective
December 2, 1985, the Development Services Department will be organizationally
transferred to the Fire Department.
In order to finalize the transfer of functions, it is necessary to reappropriate the
unexpended balance of funds from the Development Services Department.
ADMINISTRATION.RECOMMENDATION: •
The Administration recommends that the attached Resolution amending the FY 1985/86
General Operating Budget be approved.
