A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE
STATE OF FLORIDA LEGISLATURE ENACTING AN EQUITABLE
METHOD TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO BE USED STRICTLY FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY.
WHEREAS, Dade County has until recent years historically enjoyed a healthy and
vibrant economy, and a position of leadership in the State and Regional economy, and it is
critically important that action be taken to improve our economy and resume our position of
economic leadership, and ,
WHEREAS, professional economic development activity within a community is a
proven method for creating jobs and improving the economic well-being of an area, and
Dade's business community is committed to supporting coordinated, comprehensive, county-
wide economic development, and
WHEREAS, economic development efforts benefit the entire community through
the creation of jobs, and the business sector is the immediate beneficiary of such efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, in recognition of the proportionate benefit from, and
responsibility to share in the funding of a coordinated, county-wide economic development
effort, the City of Miami Beach, Florida hereby endorses and supports the State of Florida
Legislature enacting an equitable method to provide funds to be used strictly for the purpose
of economic development activity.
