RESOLUTION NO. 86-18418
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
REQUESTING THE STATE ATTORNEY TO ENFORCE
SECTION 877. 08, FLORIDA STATUTES AGAINST
PERSONS MOLESTING, OPENING, BREAKING,
INJURING, DAMAGING OR OTHERWISE TAMPERING
WITH A PARKING METER LOCATED IN MIAMI
BEACH WITH INTENT TO COMMIT LARCENY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, recently there has been an increase in larceny
of money contained in parking meters and the destruction of the
said parking meters located in the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS , Section 877.08 , Florida Statutes prohibits and
provides penalties for the molesting, opening, breaking, damaging
or otherwise tampering with a parking meter of another with intent
to commit larceny; and
WHEREAS , the State Attorney has the authority and duty
to enforce Section 877 .08, Florida Statutes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT the City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach is hereby requesting the
State Attorney to enforce Section 877. 08, Florida Statutes against
persons molesting, opening, breaking, injuring, damaging or
otherwise tampering with .a parking meter located in Miami Beach
with intent to commit larceny.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of April, 1986.
