RESOLUTION NO. 86-18419
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, JOINING IN THE
COUNTY-WIDE CLEAN-A-THON ENTITLED "KEEP
AMERICA BEAUTIFUL" , APRIL 20-26 , 1986, AND
URGING THE CITIZENS OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
TO JOIN IN THIS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has joined in the program
"Keep America Beautiful" and supports and collaborates with
existing clean-up efforts and encourages community programs that
will result in a cleaner and more beautiful place to live and
work; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that every citizen
should contribute to keeping the environment clean and beautiful,
and work together to preserve clean air , fresh water and the
natural beauty of the surroundings ; and
WHEREAS, the benefits to be realized under this
continuing program will be:
(1) . Increased awareness and commitment to maintain a
clean community;
(2) . Improve the morale of all public employees;
(3) . Provide for an attractive setting for homeowners,
business and investors; and
(4) . Increase the pride of the community by full
participation by all of its citizens.
NOW IT BE RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
Section 1. That the City of Miami Beach,
Florida joins in the county-wide clean-
a-thon entitled "Keep America Beautiful"
April 20-26 , 1986 .
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is requested to
appoint a chairperson to plan and
implement its city' s "Keep America.
Beautiful" program and to join with Keep
Dade Clean, Inc. , the national, non-
profit, public service organization
responsible for involving individuals in
community improvement, originated to
focus attention of the efforts of
concerned Americans.

SECTION 3 . That the City Manager/City
Clerk is hereby authorized to distribute
a copy of this resolution to accomplish
the purposes as expressed herein.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of April , 1986.
