A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $16,000
FROM GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY INTO. DONATIONS AND
CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY CONCERT;', ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City Commission directed the Administration to
meet with representatives of the Community Concert..., Association;
and •
WHEREAS, the Administration received a request from the
organization for funding in the amount of $16,000 for the current
year ; and
WHEREAS, the Adminstration has determined that funding exists
in the General Fund Contingency Account as a result of lower than
anticipated costs associated with Spring Break 1986;.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Administration is
authorized and directed to appropriate $16,000 from the General
Fund Contingency Account into the Donations and Contributions
Account for the Community Concert , Association for FY 1985/1986.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1986.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $16,000
FROM GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY INTO DONATIONS AND
CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE'COMMUNITY BENEFIT ASSOCIATION
The City Commission requested the Administration to meet with
representatives from the Community Benefit Association to discuss
the feasibility of providing financial support for the
organization. The agency has requested the City to provide
$16,000 for various cultural activities held in Miami Beach.
The Administration has reviewed the availability of funding for
this project and is recommending that the City Commission
authorize the ,attached resolution appropriating the requested
amount into the Donations and Contributions Account. The
available funding will be a reappropriation of funds from
Contingency.
The reappropriation . of funds is a direct result of the
substantially lower promotional costs associated with spring break
activities. Since the agreement for spring break called for the
return of unexpended funds to the Contingency Account upon
completion of the program, the Community Benefit Association
appropriation has become possible.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution which authorizes and directs the appropriation
of $16,000 from the General Fund Contingency Account to Donations
and Contributions for the purpose of providing funding to the
Community Benefit Association for various cultural activities in
Miami Beach.
