RESOLUTION NO. 86-18438
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE STATE OF
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE DIVISION OF
LIBRARY SERVICES FOR A LIBRARY SERVICES AND
CONSTRUCTION ACT GRANT TO THE LIBRARY FOR THE
BOOKS-BY-MAIL. PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY.
WHEREAS, the Division of Library Services, as administrator of
federal funds provided through the Library Services and Construc-
tion Act, as amended by Public Law 98-480, under the plan of
operation approved by the U.S. Secretary of Education, is desirous
of providing a grant for Library Service to the Elderly, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Public Library has proposed a
Library Service to the Elderly project to the Division of Library
Services, which project is acceptable the the Division of Library
Services, and
WHEREAS, the Books-By-Mail Program is designed to reach resi-
dents of Miami beach who cannot avail themselves of the Library' s
facilities, i==5-
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk
are authorized and directed to execute an Agreement between the
City of Miami Beach and the State of Florida, Department of State
Division of Library Services for a Library Services and Construc-
tion Act Grant to the Library for the Books-By-Mail Program for
the Elderly.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1986.
