Spring Break 2021 Police Deployment UPDATED(1)Spring Break 2021 Deployment Plan Deputy Chief Wayne Jones Spring Break Dates February 15th through April 11th 8 weeks High Impact Weekends –First 3 Weekends of March March 5-7 March 12-14 March 19-21 Police Department Deployment Full police coverage for the entire 8 weeks, with additional reinforcements during the high impact weekends. Shifts and schedules were modified to maximize presence. The entire Department overlaps, meaning they are all on-duty each Saturday throughout the duration of the deployment. Every asset and law enforcement technique at the Department’s disposal will be utilized to include: License Plate Readers (fixed and mobile) Traffic Enforcement (motors, patrol cars) Marine Patrol (additional vessels) Post/Beat positions in the ADCD Problem Solving Teams (PST) -Proactive Enforcement ATV’s (beach and park patrol) Golf Carts/Mules (beach and Baywalk patrols) Directed Patrols Goodwill Ambassadors Police Personnel On-Duty During the Deployment The table below denotes the number of on-duty Miami Beach officers during this deployment.These numbers donotincludethecontingenciesweareutilizingfromoutsideagencies. This deployment plan allows us the flexibility to deployofficersthroughouttheCity,as deemed necessary,and according to the volume of calls received in each area. The increase in the number of on-duty officers provides the Department with the flexibility to deploy theseresourceswheretheyareneeded.
