I am pleased to announce the status of the Miami Beach Youth Commission's #MBHistory
series to inform youth residents on the contributions of Black, Jewish, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+
community members approved at the December 16, 2020 Commission meeting. The link to

The Youth Commission #MBHistory series provides for five, 30-minute livestreamed
segments focusing on the role of Black, Jewish, Hispanic, and LGBTQ Miami Beach
community members who contributed to making Miami Beach a global tourist destination and
model of tolerance despite years of what some have described as intolerance. The program,
#MB History, will form the basis of a new curriculum on Miami Beach history that will be offered
free of charge to public and private schools throughout the city. Miami Beach has allocated
$20,000 for the program.
The first segment will present a historic retrospective of the Miami Beach Jewish community
and will be hosted by Miami Beach Youth Commissioners, along with a community guest.

Organizational Development Performance Initiatives (ODPI) and Marketing/Communications
are using various outreach efforts via numerous platforms to inform our youth of these
upcoming segments such as inclusion in MB magazine, MBTV, e-newsletters, lnstagram
stories, as well as in-school signage (i.e. flyers attached). Please share the lnstagram story
