RESOLUTION NO. 86-18492
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR
EXTENSIONS OF TIME FOR BUILDING PERMITS UNDER
CERTAIN ECONOMIC EXCEPTIONS AND PROVIDING
LIMITATIONS ON EXTENSIONS OF PERMIT VALIDITY
AND PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS , the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida has taken notice of the fact that the building industry in
Miami Beach is presently experiencing serious economic pressures
as a result of a general recession created by extraordinary
adverse economic conditions within the City.
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to provide for
extension of building permits for economic exceptions and
limitations thereto as follows:
(a) For all initial and extended
building permits which would have
otherwise expired on or after
September 30 , 1985, the City of
Miami Beach Building Official shall
extend the time during which
commencement or resumption of work
is required for six (6) months from
the date on which an application is
made. Said extension shall
reinstate any building permit which
would have otherwise expired by
operation of §§304. 3 (a) or
§§304.3 (f) , South Florida Building
Code.
(b) An application for an economic
exception must be made within
thirty (30) days of the effective
date of this resolution on a form
provided by the City of Miami Beach
Building Official accompanied by a
non-refundable filing fee of Five
Hundred ($500 . 00) Dollars.
(c) In addition to the economic
exception fee stated in section (b)
above, the permittee shall pay
additional fees required by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that provision is
hereby made for extensions of time for building permits under
certain economic exceptions, and providing limitations on
extensions of permit validity.
This Resolution shall be effective as of June 18, 1986 .
