A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CANVASSING
BOARD TO SERVE AS CANVASSING BOARD FOR THE
SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO
BE HELD AT THE TIME OF THE NOVEMBER 4, 1986
DADE COUNTY ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, on November 4 , 1986 , Dade County will be
conducting elections at which time the City has authorized the
holding of a special election relating to staggered terms of City
Commissioners and Mayor , repeal of Section 37 (h) of the City
Charter , issuance of bonds for acquisition of beachfront property,
and Ocean Drive improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach under the auspices of
Dade County, will be submitting to its electorate the aforesaid
ballot questions at said election; and
WHEREAS, Dade County is charged with the full
responsibility of conducting the aforesaid election, short of
certifying the results of the City of Miami Beach ' s ballot
questions; and
WHEREAS , the County Canvassing Board shall be charged
with the statutory responsibilities relating to the conduct of
elections on November 4 , 1986 and shall act as Canvassing Board
for the City of Miami Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the County Canvassing Board is
hereby authorized to act as Canvassing Board for the November 4 ,
1986 special election of the City of Miami Beach.
