A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE WAIVING OF INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
AND ALLOWING A DISPLAY OF MERCHANDISE FOR LINCOLN ROAD
COMMUNITY FESTIVAL, A SPECIAL EVENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
THAT,
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has created The Lincoln Road Management
Program to act as a catalyst for the revitalization of the Lincoln Road area central
commercial district; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Road Management Program, in conjunction with the
Lincoln Road Mercantile Association, is desirous of undertaking a special event to be known
as the Lincoln Road Community Festival, and;
WHEREAS, in order to make such a festival a reality, certain waivers must be
obtained;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach hereby waives its insurance requirements for October 24th, 25th and 26th, 1986; be it
further resolved that Code Section Number 25-67.2 which prohibits merchants from
displaying merchandise beyond their front doors be waived for Lincoln Road area merchants
for festival days only; and be it further resolved that a special permit be granted to Lincoln
Road restaurants to operate sidewalk cafes during festival days only.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of July 1986.
