A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 86-18539 AND AUTHORIZING
THE WANING OF INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS AND ALLOWING A DISPLAY
OF MERCHANDISE FOR THE LINCOLN ROAD COMMUNITY FESTIVAL, A
SPECIAL EVENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, THAT,
WHEREAS, the City Of Miami Beach has created The Lincoln Road Management
Program to act as a catalyst for the revitalization of the Lincoln Road area central
commercial district; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Road Management Program, in conjunction with the
Lincoln Road Mercantile Association, is desirous of undertaking a special event to be
known as the Lincoln Road Community Festival; and
WHEREAS, in order to make such a festival a reality, certain waivers must be
obtained; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, at its meeting of July 23, 1986, passed
Resolution Number 86-18539 granting such waivers for this special event, scheduled
for October 24, 25 and 26, 1986; and
WHEREAS, due to the discovery of a Jewish holiday on these dates, it has been
determined necessary to change the dates for this special event to November 8 and 9,
1986;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of therCity of Miami
Beach that it hereby amends Resolution Number 86-18539 and waives insurance
requirements for November 8 and 9, 1986; be it further resolved that Code Section
Number 25-67.2, which prohibits merchants from displaying merchandise beyond their
front doors be waived for Lincoln Road area merchants for festival days only; and be it
further resolved that a special permit be granted to Lincoln Road restaurants to
operate sidewalk cafes during festival days only.
