RESOLUTION NO. 86-18594
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING THE MIAMI BEACH
LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING
COMMUNITY INPUT TO THE MIAMI BEACH CITY COMMISSION, _ •
AND ESTABLISHING THE MEMBERSHIP TO SEVEN MEMBERS WITH
EACH COMMISSIONER APPOINTING ONE MEMBER.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is currently merging the Miami Beach
Library System with the Metropolitan Dade County system, effective October 1, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, this merger will be in a transition period for a period of several
months; and,
WHEREAS, after the transitional period the City is desirous of continually
monitoring the quality of Library services that Dade County provides to Miami Beach
citizens; and
WHEREAS, The City of Miami Beach is also desirous of providing community
input into the types of programs offered at the Miami Beach Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach creates the Miami Beach _:.- '
Library Advisory Board with the membership of seven with each City Commissioner
appointing one member to the Board for a term of one year, effective October 1, 1986.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of September , 1986.
